Many hunters and fisherman have stayed at McKay's Sisip (Duck)
Camp and have been very happy with their stay.
"I am someone who does a great deal of hunting and trapping
around my home. I also have been on several guided hunts for
waterfowl and big game. On the 2006 Spring Bear hunt, one
thing was for sure, Robert McKay and his guides had done a
thorough job in scouting, baiting, and preparing stands for
my father and myself. On the first day of the hunt we each
saw several black bears and color phase bears. My father harvested
a beautiful blonde/brown bear on the first night. I on the
other hand, was welcomed on the way to my stand by some very
large tracks in the mud so I patiently passed several bears
(somewhere around 20) until the third day of the hunt I harvested
a large black bear. The number of bears in this area is impressive
and my only regret is that I didn't have the proper photo,
or better yet video equipment to capture all the bears I was
seeing. I will not make that mistake next year. Bear hunts
for me in the past have been in the evening only with the
daytime spent doing nothing. Robert had it set up where we
would hunt some morning stands and some evening stands with
the option of staying out all day. My bear was harvested at
11:00 A.M.. Whatever the bears are doing or whatever you want
to do Robert can accommodate. The lodging is fantastic, staying
in hand built log buildings, built by Robert himself. The
food was great too. I don't know who ate more me or the bears.
I will be back to see Robert to build more great memories."

Robert, thanks for another great hunt at Sisip Camp. As always,
you and your camp staff were most accommodating. 2005 was
my best deer to date and my first bear, next time I want to
go for the big bear that watched me from the road about 9
miles south of Cumberland House the morning I left. Get Art
and Jeff to track it, rope it, and hide it so someone else
can’t shoot it next year.
If any one wishes to contact me about hunting with Robert
Mckay, my e-mail address is lancedw3@hotmail.com or call my
office 662-349-2453 or see my website www.lancewhaley.com.
I have been hunting with Robert since 2000. Once you hunt
with him, you look forward to coming up each year because
most every time you will be meeting hunters you were with
on a previous trip. Some of the South Caroline bunch has been
coming up for nearly 20 years.
